CamBob Loren (June 4, 1995 - June 4, 2020)
Cameron was committed to a life with minimal carbon footprint; no plastic purchases, little trash production, minimal water waste, no carbon emissions through transportation, and always in support of local food production. He strongly believed in the power of permaculture for global healing, not just for keeping our planet healthy but for keeping our communities clean and fed. He wanted everyone to have access to sustainable and healthy living. He shared these practices with everyone he encountered, and inspired his communities far and wide.
His ripple affect will be felt forever.

Alanna & Kate
Kate and Alanna met on Catalina Island working as Marine Science Instructors for Catalina Island Marine Institute. Both found their way to the world of outdoor education from lifelong experiences traveling and
learning to love the outdoors.
Kate - I grew up in Minnesota, went to school in Texas, and have always cared about taking care of our planet and trying to reduce our negative impacts. In 2016 I finally made it to the west coast for an Americorps year working with a water equity nonprofit. Living in Northern California, I learned a lot - importantly, that I do not like office jobs and I LOVE to bike. With reference to the former, I'm incredibly grateful to have ended up on Catalina Island as a Marine Science Instructor, inspiring kiddos, realizing I'm an ocean person, and befriending the likes of Alanna! With reference to the latter, I'm stoked to be embarking on such a bike adventure. I hope to learn a lot about myself and the beautiful coast and living lightly and gently.
Alanna - I was born and raised in New York, then lived in the Pocono Mountains. In 2012 my mom and I moved to Seaside, Oregon to start a new adventure. I fell in love with outdoor education working for the Haystack Rock Awareness Program and soon earned a bachelors degree in marine biology from Oregon State University in 2018. I took that degree to Catalina Island to continue marine science education and increase my own skills in diving and time spent on the ocean. I have a dream to dive into the world of permaculture and learn from the land on a community farm. I'd like to weave my love of land and sea and sustainability and continue inspiring and educating those around me.
